I want to be important. By being different. And these girls are all the same.
The 1980s
I loved being a kid in the 1980s. It was such a fun time to grow up. We didn’t have the internet or cellphones, but it didn’t matter! We were too busy riding our bikes and skateboards everywhere! If I wanted to see my friend, I’d just hop on my purple bike and drop on by. No calling necessary.
MTV played music and it was good music! We even had the coolest Vee-Jays (Martha Quinn I miss you!). Bands played and wrote their own music (most of them anyway). Rock music was alive and well.
We had the best toys, the best cartoons and the best hair styles! Mohawks not faux-hawks. It was the real deal back then.
Crank calling was all the rage too. There wasn’t any caller id. So you could get away with it!
Girls could dress cool without looking slutty! Jon Cryer wasn’t a dweeb, he was cool and all the guys dressed like him.
Michael Jackson was black and alive AND a teen idol!! No joke!!
Things sure were different! Although there were difficult times, there was lots of fun too and I wouldn’t change any of it if I could!

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous”

It’s been far too long since I kissed somebody.
Can I have a big round of applause for the man who made tennis cool before Agassi, Sampras, Federer, Ashe and all the others?
